That's an explosive bloke, for sure. Interesting about the quick draw thing, a lot of cross over there. There's a post I wrote about anticipation and gunslingers, it's about a study at the University of Birmingham and implications for speed punching

Thanks for the comment Kevin

One inch or three inch or whatever, it's the explosive action that's the important part in my eyes, but then extrapolating it to your punches is what makes it useful!

The one inch punch was really more like a three inch punch when Bruce Lee performed it. Still an amazing display of body coordination.

Cool stuff. Yeah, I remember when I started figuring this out on the punching bag. That snap back (As I call it) makes a world of difference. And I never learned it in Karate class.

Surprisingly, I never actually knew the technicalities of how an ACL injury occurred until now after reading your article. Funny enough, I actually started to get knee problems after working at Costco. I would stock the freezers and I'd sometimes have to bend my knee in a funny way to get stuff stocked. After a while I started to get knee problems! I now have to listen to my body when I train. You are definitely right when you say in this area (And others) this is pain with out gain.

Same thing happened to me. I had better speed, punching and kicking technique than a lot of others. Still the cat stance should be lower.

The trainer himself didn't even go that low. Almost felt as if it should be lower just to have something to 'perfect'.

Felt wrong trying to fix something that wasn't wrong so I moved on to another art.
